Spring is beginning to arrive and the air is starting to lose that arctic chill, when the breeze blows by. Everything is just about to burst into bloom again.<\/p>\n<p>The reason I think of this and the program is because it is analogous to what happened in my life and probably the same for all others. The Winter certainly represented everything about my alcoholism. Everything was cold and dead; frozen. And when I came in to AA, it was like the beginning of Spring. Coming back from the dead into life once again.<\/p>\n<p>What was dead is reborn in this program. Dead mentally, almost physically, and certainly spiritually. In here we experience a spiritual rebirth. Most of us begin to heal physically, and some of us begin to regain some of our lost mental faculties.<\/p>\n<p>Bill tells us in the BB that we are reborn. And that rebirth began, when I went through the pain, which forced me to let go of alcohol. That moment is still fresh in my mind. I never want to forget that moment ever. It is one of the most precious moments in my life. That instance, when I knew my alcoholic drinking had come to an end. That moment of despair, when I had lost hope that alcohol would be able to work for me ever again. And then the hope I was restored to when I found that there was a solution.<\/p>\n<p>I was thinking of all this today and reminding myself of what it is that reinforces my resolve never to drink again.
