The last few days our group has had a number of people, who though short term in here, think they know what they’re talking about. Not short but long term and often talking about things, which have nothing to do with staying sober from alcohol. I know it has bothered a number of us in here. I know it did me, and I was close to tell them to stop talking and listen to those, who can help them.<\/p>\n
I know it drove me back to when I came in and what I had to go through and change. It reminded me of what my old sponsor told me back then. He said, “You don’t know that you don’t know. You only think you know.” That was a wake up call, which made me become willing to change. And I did.<\/p>\n
In fact today I really did tell them what it was that happened, as the result of my drinking alcohol, and how I was able to change. I don’t know if any of this helped them. My guess is that it didn’t. But one “new” person came over to me after the meeting and we talked for quite a while. What he was telling me was very helpful for him. He told me about his sponsor and the help he was being given. Very hopeful and it added a sense of being positive today.<\/p>\n
Anyway it was ending the day with being helpful and did relieve me of the bondage of self. I felt spiritually being helped and was grateful to me Higher Power and a lot of people who have helped me over the years in here.
