Sharing and receiving

I was reminded of a couple of things at our meeting today. One was the Serenity Prayer, and the other was how we were grateful. I heard a lot of great stories on the part of a number of long time sober people. Their reaction to all the things they went through to experience both of these.

It brought to mind a lot of things I have gone through. I know I have changed a lot over time, and there were a few, who have gone through to where I am. And there were a number I know, who still have things going on in their own lives, which, if they continue to stay sober and work this program in their lives, will change in time and end up where we are.

After the meeting I went out with a member and we took the time to talk about all of this. It was a reminder to me of what it was I went through over time in here. My hope was that I was helpful to him, as others in the past were helpful to myself and helped me to continue to stay sober, go to meetings on a regular basis, listen and share, and grow as so many of us have over time. He has encouraged me.

Anyway I was glad we had the opportunity to go and listen to so many members today, who went through some really great stories they shared with us. Talk about gratitude and the Serenity Prayer. Made me grateful and reminded me to often step back and follow what I have learned and was able to experience over time. Much thanks to my Higher Power, and so many, who overtime have helped me. And a reminder to sometimes stepping back and being quiet and entering into the humility we need to practice from time to time.
