Today was an interesting meeting. There were old timers present, many middle age sober people, a few young sober persons, and one new individual. It drew several talks to hopefully open the door to those who need it the most.Like a few sober alcoholics, we went back and tried to bring about wake up stories to help arouse the desires to grow along lines to help them stay and grow along spiritual lines and learn how to stay sober. I know it made me go into details of how I got sober and some of the things I needed to do, like the Second Step.
After I went into some rough details of my getting sober, I did open the door to how I was introduced to growing along spiritual lines. It helped me to talk about how all of this kept me sober and made it the way I needed to do to grow along healthy lines.
Hopefully it may have helped a few. I did get a chance, like another friend to speak to the new young man. But it did open the door within a few of us. Made me and them grateful. What these meetings and our lives are hopefully about.
I know it did help me think about my Higher Power and my old sponsor, and some of those old timers, who reached out to help me to continue to stay sober. Made me grateful.
