Beginning the day

One of the things I learned over time was to be able to do what I learned was called a silent meditation. That was that I learned to be totally quiet within. And to learn to sit quietly for about fifteen minutes, or longer; Early on I learned that prayer is talking to God. Meditation was listening to God.

I know from the past that I can take the time to think about spiritual things. I can go here and there in my mind, if I want to. And ;often I do. I can read what the program wants from me and then think about that. What it means to me. That can take up some time within my thinking. I can begin it with a prayer or prayers and end it the same way.

I also know that I can sit down and write my thoughts out. I can begin that with prayers, and so end it. What I was thinking about today is what I need to try to do each and everyday. That is to practice a form of spirituality. And it’s these things which help me to do it.

Anyway I just wanted to take a moment and remind myself of what it is I need to begin each day in here. It helps me to live this day sober a day at at time. I also need to take the time to continue to express my gratitude to my Higher Power and everyone in here, who have helped me to stay sober. And I know that freely giving this program to new comers is one way of doing this.
