Sharing

Once again it was “chip day”, the anniversary of many of our true members, who had come and shared their being able to stay sober with all those in attendance. A great reminder to this alcoholic and others like me, what this program does to help us to stay sober a day at a time.

Made all of us go back and identify with their stories. What alcohol had done to them and how they were able to recover from their bad lives out there. How they came in here and were able to put this program into action and change from their painful living into peace and happiness. But mainly that they were no longer drinking alcohol. Staying sober.

All of us heard what we are hopefully aware of in here. We had to begin to live a spiritual way of life, which is what has brought about the deep changes in our lives. Our dependency on what we call the God of our understanding. Learning how to pray each and everyday.

We. with a spiritual base, have had to go through these Twelve Steps in here, sharing our faults with others and our Higher Power, and clearing away the wreckage of our pasts. I had to stop and read a part of the BB. The final page in a “Vision For You”, which states how the members in here are willing to act out the Fellowship of the Spirit, and share with each other. And then being willing to pray for a blessing for each of us to help us stay sober.

Those thoughts I believe were with us today, as we stayed open and listened to the celebrants and each other. Gave me a lot of hope and made me grateful, as I know it did others.
