One of the most pleasant gifts in here, which is so pleasing to me, are the friends I have met and have grown close to over time in here. Hopefully I have been able to help them from time to time, and I know how grateful I am for the help they have given me.
One of the greatest things we do, I know, is being able to continue to grow in our being able to stay sober a day at a time. To be able to listen to each others problems from time to time, and they mine. To help one another to continue to grow along spiritual lines, which can be so much helpful, and sometimes different.
I know that one of the gifts I have been given are those things my old sponsor and those old timers passed along to me. From time to time I know that I have been able to share these with many of those I have met along the way in here. And I know how many times they have reached out and were able to remind me of what it is I need to be doing to continue to stay where I belong in here.
I remember the words of our prayer, “Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better serve thee.” I try to remind myself of this each and everyday. And this is what comes to mind, listening to so many over time in here. Helps me to focus on what it is I am able to do.
Anyway I have been constantly thinking about this over time in here. It makes me grateful to my Higher Power, this program, and all those I have been in contact with throughout my sobriety. I am so amazed at times with the good humor and the wisdom I am so often given. It reinforces the gift of hope, faith, and love I have received in here over time.
